From the time they pick you up at the airport until the time they drop you off, you are in good hands and are treated like a king or a queen. This is a top notch facility and I would recommend Dr Verboonen to anybody. Staring off i was a little skeptical as most are about traveling across the border for a surgical procedure. It wasnt just about saving money for me. My insurance decided they wouldnt pay for the procedure here in the states. I talked to several others that had it done by Dr Verboonen and their results spoke for themselves. The facility is spotless. It is one of the cleanest hospital/clinics I have ever been to.

Dr V is a great surgeon and the staff makes you feel welcome. I would recommend this surgeron to anyone that is considering any type of gastric weight loss procedure. I had gastric sleeve on a Friday and returned home on Sunday. Then went back to work on Monday. No problems at all. I have lost 100 lbs in 6 months. I feel the best I have felt in 20 years. I am power walking 4 miles a day and 1 hour workout at gym three to four days a week. All of this would not have been possible without Dr V and staff. I would be glad to talk with anyone that is considering weight loss surgery. Louisville, GA

I have to admit, I was concerned about leaving my country to have a major surgery. My concerns were quickly put to rest when I met my team. I was cared for by a group of true medical professionals in an environment of comfort and compassion. My surgery and subsequent weight loss have been a tremendous success. I am down 100 lbs. in about 5 months and dropping still. I would refer the clinic and especially Dr. Verboonan to anyone serious about losing the weight. I could not be more pleased Auburn, ny

Lydia says: Dr. Verboonen and his surgical team were excellent to work with. They kept me updated with the process on what was going to happen. I sincerely was thankful for the nurse in staff after surgery that helped guide us to recovery. The VGS was the best surgery for me since I was ready to change my eating habits. The best thing to do is listen to the surgeon and follow along the eating plan. It helps tremendously and get up and work out. That extra energy you gain from working out will help the recovery. I am happy to say that I am 8 1/2 months out from surgery and I am down 91lbs. I feel amazing and look even better than I was in high school. Thank you Dr. V for the guidance.

My sister and I had VGS with Dr V 4/16. I chose Dr V for his experience. It was important to me to know I was in competent and experienced hands. The entire process was smooth. JC, the coordinator, took care of everything. It all went as described, no surprises. I chose Tijuana for the lower cost. It was nothing fancy, but provided everything we needed. The nurse, Maria, was very attentive and kind. Dr V is professional, personable, and confident. I felt comfortable. He explained the process and procedure and answered all my questions and concerns preoperatively, while I was there and continues to be available postoperatively. I feel confident in recommending Dr V.

My grandaughter and myself just had our surgeries on September 2nd 2016. She had a gastric sleeve and I had a gastric sleeve revision to a mimi gastric bypass. The whole process was smooth, had someome guide us the whole way. Dr. Verboonen was excellent, he was straight forward with everything he was going to do and after the procedure as well. His work is awesome, highly recommend. I will be sending some before and after photos in 6 months. I will say Dr. Verboonen has provided a life changing surgery for my grandaughter (14) when others did not see the need. Her body image was destroyed when others would not do the surgery two years ago when we were searching for help. Thank God for Dr. V. I wish I would have found him two years. ago. Hey btw! I went to the Dr today. He thinks I should consider just losing twenty more lbs instead of the forty that I had in mind. He thinks based upon my height and frame that losing the 40lbs wouldn't look good. My eyes are clear from signs of diabetes. He thinks that by me going to Mexico and having this surgery that I have saved my life. Its great to have his support. I've been lucky that both of my primary care drs are supportive of me having gastric sleeve and their wonderful nurses Page Lee Cosgrove and Tabitha Jones. Thank you JC Urrea for being my patient facilitator and a very special thank you to Sergio Verboonen for performing my surgery!

My daughter an I went to Cancun, Mexico to have a Vertical Sleeve Gasterectmy in Mar 2011. While she wanted to lose 100 lbs and did, I wanted my back to get better and lower my blood pressure. We had our surgery at the Hospiten and it was a little scary since no one spoke English but our Doctors. We stayed 3 nights in hospital and it was a little rough but all in all not too bad pain wise. My daughter had it worse with pain than I did but Dr. Verboonen and his team came in and checked on us often. I lost over 40 lbs and went off blood pressure pills. Also took my youngest daughter to Busch Gardens Amusement Park 5 times that next summer and walked around the park all day and rode rides. Previously could not have even thought of doing that. This surgery has changed my life and still talk to Dr. Verboonen.

I had a great experience with Dr. Verboonen. My wounds were very small and healed very fast. The surgery was exactly as he described it would be. I am very pleased with both Dr. Verboonen and his surgical coordinator.

I think Dr. Verboonen was great. My daughter and I had surgery the same day and when she had a problem in the middle of the night in the hospital he came right away. He has stayed in communication with us after our return to the US and answers our questions very quickly. I would definitely recommend him to a friend.

I had my VSG with Dr V in 11/19/10 and it was by far one of the best decisions I have ever made. Dr V was there to answer all of my questions and to guide me through the entire surgical experience. The patient coordinator was always there and on top of things and she made sure that my every need was met. Our drivr, was always attentive and VERY patient and I thank him for that. My surgery was done in Cancun at Gallenia Hospital and it was quite a pleasant hospital experience. I liked the fact that when I hit the call bell someone actually was there within a minute and there was no voice over a loudspeaker asking me what I needed. The nurses were wonderful and everyone really works alongside the docs as a team. I would say that Dr V surgical competnece was excellent. His bedside manner was wonderful though I must admit he is a little shy at first. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with Dr V and would highly recommend him to anyone considering WLS.

I have spoken to Dr. V on the phone. He was very patient and listened to my questions. He answered every question very thoroughly, and said he would be glad to pray with me before the surgery. He put me at ease and I look forward to meeting him face to face.

Dr. V was wonderful. He is very personable, speaks good English, and seemed very relaxed. He even visited with me and talked about his family, cruises, food, etc. He answered all my questions prior to surgery and explained things very well. I was very comfortable under his care and trusted him fully to do a great job, which he did. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering bariatric surgery. He is a great one!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr.V and his group. Dr. Ponce de Leon also but I don't know how to add him as a surgeon as well. They all came to see me daily and make sure everything was going well. I came 3000 miles and never regret a moment. Very impressed with the staff at the Clinic and INT Hospital. I hope the clinic can move closer to INT someday. That would be the only thing that I would suggest. Caring, clean and there in an instant when you need them. I was impressed for sure. I loved the whole experience..
